Migrant Education Program

The Migrant Education Program is a nationwide program that offers educational services to the children of agriculture workers in the United States. Children of agriculture workers or "migrant children" move often in search of farm labor and other agriculture jobs. These jobs are temporary or seasonal jobs. As a result, the children of these workers change schools often and in many cases are also a hired hand in the fields. The families of these laborers are usually in an area until the harvest season has ended and then move on. The goal of the Migrant Education Program is to provide these "migrant children" with supports to have success in school and ultimately graduate.
