Federal law states that school districts must have in effect policies and procedures to ensure that all children with disabilities residing in the district, including children with disabilities who are homeless children or are wards of the state, and children with disabilities attending private schools, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located and evaluated.
Stephenville Independent School District offers free education screenings throughout the school year. Please check the District calendar for upcoming dates and times.
Upcoming screenings on the calendar are for children not currently enrolled in school, ages 3, 4 & 5 with suspected developmental delays in the areas of speech, language, and self-help skills. Children with suspected vision and/or hearing loss from birth to age five may also be screened.
Screenings for children over the age of 5 may be scheduled at anytime during the school year.
Call the Special Education Office at (254) 968-6790 for appointments.
