VISION

The Stephenville ISD Curriculum and Instruction Department supports continuous growth by providing effective, innovative solutions for instruction.

OBTAINABLE OBJECTIVES

  • Curriculum:
  • A structured alignment of instructional goals with depth of knowledge while implementing research-based practices.
  1. Communication:
    1. Provide a clear and evident framework for collaborative team/content area time that allows for discussion about alignment, data analysis, and planning so that all stakeholders can be informed.
  2. Professional Learning:
    1. Professional Learning - Facilitate meaningful learning, research-based, personalized learning opportunities that align with the needs of our students
  3. Resources:
    1. Resources- Stephenville ISD’s resources include utilizing professional and support staff, money, facilities, digital and assessment tools, parents, instructional resources, and professional communities to enhance the growth of all learners.
  4. Assessment
    1. Assessment - A combination of informal, formative, and summative evaluation tools to guide instruction and ensure student growth leading to mastery

 

In 2011-12, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) replaced the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), which had been the state assessment program in place since 2003.

STARR includes the end-of-course (EOC) assessments mandated by SB 1031 in 2007 and the new grade 3-8 assessments mandated by HB 3 in 2009.
